Abstract

Business Analysis is continuing to grow, evolve and gain momentum as a profession. There are increasing numbers of Business Analysis practices being created in organisations across the world and the role has moved from being perceived as the note taker for requirements to one where the BA is considered to be a trusted advisor shaping business change within organisations.

In this presentation Corrine Thomas will share with you reflections and thoughts on the maturing of the BA role and profession through sharing insights from Debbie Paul Managing Director of Assistkd on the Third Wave of analysis plus examples from her own career in Business Change which spans over 20 years of analysis roles including creating BA practices within financial services and telecoms companies.

About Corrine Thomas

Corrine Thomas is an experienced leader and expert Business Analyst with over 25 years of experience working in a variety of analyst roles across a range of industry sectors including Local Government, Healthcare, Telecommunications and Financial services. In her most recent roles Corrine has contributed to the creation of successful BA communities in two large companies. She has a proven track record of creating and transforming capability of business analysis practices through utilising robust people management, training and coaching. In addition she has many years’ experience of delivering business analysis on large scale change programmes.

Corrine has regularly delivered presentations and workshops at the BA conference Europe and to internal BA communities within a number of companies, where she has focussed on personal skills development. She contributed to the 2013 book “Business Analysis and Leadership: Influencing Change” (published by Kogan Page). Corrine is passionate about career and personal development for Business Analysts, her mission is to enable Business Analysts to become role models and confident leaders in the profession. She is currently Operations Director of the International Institute of Business Analysis, UK Chapter and Director of the Business Analysis Managers Forum.
